IMAGE was created in 1986 by a team of statisticians, applied mathematicians and engineers in the computer science. Their aim was to bring university research workers and firms closer together.

Supported by the ANVAR and partner of the CNRS since its creation, IMAGE is involved in the development and the enrichment of analysis and aid to decision methods.
From this interaction, a kit of specialised tools in the textual engineering field was created, and more particularly ALCESTE

Quality of these works and their improved status have reinforced the special link between academic and industrial circles. This link is visible in the training sessions organised by  IMAGE,  and  particularly in its summer schools , place of communication where researchers and company directors mix.

The professional relationship between IMAGE and its partnersis courteous and based on confidence,  respecting the professional code of ethics. Our reasoning is particularly based on listening , comprehension and looking for an adequate, optimum and efficient solution.
